Sitting in the W Hotel’s Living Room, Nikki and Brie Bella’s eyes widen when they talk about their years in Scottsdale.
They recall their goals and aspirations as little girls. One of their dreams will come true on Friday, September 14, when they debut their line during a fashion show at the hotel’s WET Pool Deck. Doors open at 8 p.m. and guests must be 21 or older to attend.
“Nikki and I were talking about being little girls and having these big dreams,” Brie says. “To be able to come back to your hometown and have these dreams come true is really surreal.”
Known for their reality shows Total Divas and Total Bellas and as WWE Superstars, the twins combine philanthropy and beautiful products to empower young women. The brand carries over 100 units designed to inspire women to have confidence, healthy mindsets and positive self-image through style and individuality.
The brand’s core values include empowerment, fearlessness and charity. The runway show will feature the sisters modeling Birdiebee pieces. It will be filmed for Total Bellas on the E! Network.
“I’ve been able to collaborate with Brie in the ring for 12 years,” Nikki says. ‘We’ve always loved fashion. To collaborate with her in this and be creative is amazing. There’s no one else in this world who gets this craziness in my head unlike her. It’s been awesome.”
The clothing line’s inspirational messages came from Nikki’s time recovering from a serious neck injury; one that forced others to question her career in the ring.
“When you’re so passionate about something, like Birdiebee represents, you become fearless and strong,” Nikki says. “We wanted inspirational sayings on the clothing. It’s inspired by what I went through in the ring. I wouldn’t take no for an answer. They were saying my career was over and I said, ‘Absolutely not. I’m not going to have my life be over because of this injury.’”
Wearing a white Birdiebee tank top, Brie looks at her sister admiringly. She says there are other reasons behind Birdiebee.
“When we stand in the ring, we feel strong and empowered,” Brie adds. “That’s not always going to be the case. That’s why we created Birdiebee. We feel strong in the clothing and feel empowered, the way we do in the ring.
“But, we needed to come up with something that’s good to her neck.”
The new year will see the Bella Twins revamping the Birdiebee line with a goal of conquering the world.
“We want to go more global and connect women throughout the world and empower each other,” Brie says.
“It wasn’t just about creating an apparel line,” Nikki adds. “We want to have a purpose. We want to give back. I want it to empower everyone. The Bella Army isn’t just women. We see men in lines as well, and little boys and little girls. I want to grow Birdiebee so it empowers human beings in general.”
