After opening in Downtown in 2004, Matt’s Big Breakfast quickly become one of Phoenix’s go-to breakfast joints. More than 10 years later, a move to a bigger space, an appearance on the ubiquitous “Diners, Drive-ins and Dives” and a spot at the increasingly culinary-minded Sky Harbor Airport and Matt’s still isn’t done conquering the Valley . . . or your stomach.
Their menu might look fairly simple and straight-forward, but, while everything is delicious, we recommend you order their secret menu item: the St. Louis Slinger. The foundation is made up of their scratch-made hash browns which are then topped with two sausage patties, two eggs over easy, a big scoop of their chili and then sprinkled with cheddar and onions. Just in case you haven’t had enough, it comes with a side of toast and homemade preserves. To, you know, get some fruit with your meal.
