Often lauded as the most important meal of the day and certainly many people’s favorite, breakfast is an American staple that only seems to be getting more popular in the restaurant world. Whether you’re a savory, bacon-and-hashbrowns type, or a sweet, strawberry-French-toast type, there is no denying the crave-worthiness of breakfast foods. Waking up and getting out of bed is just a little bit easier knowing pancakes are in your future.
The people behind Arizona Restaurant Week understand this, so they organized Arizona Breakfast Weekend, a chance for foodies to focus their efforts on the morning meal. From Thursday, July 30 through Sunday, August 2, restaurants across the Valley will be offering special breakfast and brunch options at varying price points.
The “breakfast bundle” is only $7 and includes an over-the-top selection of standard breakfast favorites. The “brunch lite” is $15 and includes a mini-brunch dish and a Bloody Mary or Mimosa at most locations. Lastly, “brunch” will be $25 and will be a traditional, resort-style brunch. Considering the cost of a typical brunch these days, this is quite the deal.
If your stomach isn’t rumbling its “I want waffles” chant yet, just wait until you hear what restaurants are participating. Former The Entertainer! cover-boy Chef Gio Osso’s Virtù is a can’t miss, as is the Saguaro Hotel’s outpost Distrito and Proof at The Four Seasons. Paul Martin’s, Chase’s Diner, Kale & Clover, Mindful Kitchen and Rusconi’s American Kitchen are all on the participants list. Every Valley location of Wildflower Bread Company, The Good Egg and First Watch will be serving up your Arizona Breakfast Weekend favorites. Barrio Urbano and the Original Breakfast House were just added to the lineup, and more are to come!
Chefs have the chance to perfect classics or create new recipes to wow their customers. Take Perk Eatery’s offering for example. The new dish, chimichurri hash and eggs, was created to give loyal patrons something new while also attracting new diners. Look for unique and tasty options like this from all the participants!
Whether you’re tight on cash or looking to splurge, Arizona Breakfast Weekend is a foodie event you certainly don’t want to miss out on. Mark your calendars and prepare to hear the sizzle of bacon!
